Corktown Sounds 2021 – A Truly ReSOUNDing Success!
During the past eight weeks, we had local solo artists and bands attracting visitors to the Corktown neighborhood to support local businesses in a safe, COVID-friendly way while enjoying live music.
As it was our first year hosting Corktown Sounds, we didn’t know what to expect. All we knew was that we wanted to continue the positive “buzz” about Corktown, and oh boy did we make some noise!
With more than 50 different musicians performing this year we had a variety of tunes playing all throughout the legendary Michigan Avenue. From lovely Latin music to sweet Irish folk, to powerful rock-n-roll, the corners of Corktown were full of life and joy.
We want to thank everyone who participated, as well as the Corktown small businesses community, the residents of Corktown, and all City of Detroit supporters.
We are extremely grateful to our sponsors: Canvue, Edward Jones, DTE, The Godfrey Hotel, Michigan Central Station, GTS, McShane’s, and Corktown Business Association. Your generous contribution made our vision a reality. Without you, this event would not have been the success it was.
As good as it was, we know Corktown Sounds 2022 will be even better. Become a sponsor and help us make it happen next year!
