Corktown Sounds 2022- Recap

-Sofia Nava Marron, Puente Social Media Manager

8 weeks, 12 locations, 2 rain cancellations and more than 70 performers brought life to the sidewalks of Corktown this summer!

During the months of July and August, all type of musical artists entertained pedestrians as they walked by the most iconic corners of Corktown every Wednesday from 6-8PM.

This year we expanded to 12 legendary locations along Michigan Avenue: Brooklyn Street Local, Gaelic League, Motor City Wine, Bobcat Bonnie’s, PJ’s Lager House, Cork & Gabel, 2000 Brooklyn, Nemo’s, P.A.L., Supergeil, McShane’s, Slow’s, Ottava Via.

Despite being caught of guard by Michigan weather, Corktown Sounds remains a unique, summer-long music festival on the streets of Detroit.

We want to thank everyone who participated: the artists, the patrons, our sponsors, the Corktown small businesses community, the residents of Corktown, and all other supporters.

Keep an eye out for Corktown Sounds 2023. Bring a friend, some chairs, and enjoy summer evenings with Corktown Sounds – the strolling music festival!

The Corktown Business Association (CBA) was the primary organizer of the festival. Get involved by becoming a CBA member or become an event sponsor and help us make it happen next year.
